Patio Sessions: Barbaro

Barbaro is a progressive bluegrass band playing music for films about cooking. Spicy instrumentals, savory harmonies, and to-the-point songwriting creates a dynamic and captivating set for audiences of all ages and musical tastes. Barbaro began crafting it's sound in the fall 2016 and has been evolving ever since. With an EP coming out in early 2018, and a full-length album already in the works, the band's tone is getting juicy and it's originality is reaching medium-rare.

Barbaro brings together some of Minnesota's lightly seasoned, only getting older musicians for a delectable bluegrass feast. Kyle Shelstad began his journey in Montana starting the band the "Kitchen Dwellers." Isaac Sammis comes from the Winona music scene having played banjo with "Tin Can Gin." Max Graham is undoubtedly the kindest mandolin player in the Twin Cities area, leading multiple bands including everyone's favorite "Kind Country." Fiddler Rachel Calvert started playing bluegrass with the "Common Ground Company" and continues to collaborate with a number of exciting musical adventures.
